By popular request, we took a stab at the classic Tubescreamer design. Of course, the TS is a guitar pedal with no regard to bassists, so we wanted to flip the script and design it for bass, and guitarists can use it too if they want :)
 
The heart of the TS is still present in the design, and you can easily achieve the same sounds, but this adds quite a bit of range and headroom to make it useful for a range of bass players (and guitarists). Here are how the controls work:
 
The drive knob adds gain and overdrive, and can go from clean to edge of breakup, up to distortion. The volume knob controls the output volume and can get pretty loud if needed. The tone control adds or subtracts high frequency content, ranging from warm to bright.
 
The clip switch goes between silicon diodes in the down position for stock TS clipping, or asymmetric clipping LEDs in the up position. 
 
The depth knob changes the low frequency clipping response. At minimum you get very lean bass, which can be useful for a lead tone or for a very light clean drive. Turning up the depth knob increases the low frequency response and saturation. The depth knob can provide very tight punchy overdrive or a heavy bass saturation, with a lot of variation in between. 
 
With high depth and high drive, the Evergreen turns into a mean grunge machine. Set the toggle to silicon diodes for a smooth overdrive, or to LED for a gritty snarling tone. The Evergreen has the headroom to take strong bass signals and add as much or little harmonics as needed, while retaining your dynamics and low end, and driving your signal with very low noise.
 
The pedal requires a DC power supply (not included). The DC supply should be a standard Boss style connector, center negative polarity. The pedal can accept 9 to 24 volts . The current draw is approximately 5 mA.
 
The Evergreen Overdrive has a true bypass switch.
