The Archetype Boost is an original, high voltage tube booster in a compact enclosure. In the same family as the Archetype preamp, this topology drives the JJ 12AX7 into asymetric voltage swing. The result is amazing tube compression with harmonic grind when digging in.
In addition to being a standalone tone sweetener, the Archetype Boost stacks fantasically with other boosts and preamps. Place the Archetype Boost last in line to even out levels and pump out a sweet tube tone.
The power supply in the Archetype Boost has been completely redesigned with a boost converter. Operating well beyond the audio region, the converter boosts the voltage effeciently and without noise.
The pedal requires a DC power supply (not included). The DC supply should be a standard Boss style connector, center negative polarity. The pedal can accept 9 to 12 volts. Do not exceed 12 volts or the tube will be damaged. The current draw peaks at 300 mA for just a moment at powerup, and drops to 200 mA steady state.
The Archetype Boost has a true bypass switch.
